Stone Candle Holders

Here are a few new stone sculptures. They are all translucent orange (salmon) alabaster. The candle holders look brilliant with the flameless LED candles. The stone glows a vibrant orange and red. They are all one of a kind. Sculptures are for sale at Farr Out Fine Art. Also, like my art on Facebook to see every time a new beautiful piece is finished.

Lake Blanche

We broke tradition this year and decided to go on a hike to Lake Blanche, Utah for Father’s Day/Dad’s Birthday. We don’t go as often as we used to, or nearly enough in general. It was a fantastic workout and gorgeous hike. As Dad says “Hiking isn’t just good for the body, but also for the soul.” And the pictures just don’t do it justice. The entire hike was secluded, green, and spectacular. It was a tough hike, but oh so worth it. We saw a few people on the way up, but when we got there we were completely alone which was mystical and will probably never happen again. A tip to those who enjoy nature and solitude, hike on a Monday morning.
Bells Canyon

Bells Canyon, Utah was kind of a spur of the moment hike. I wanted to go somewhere new. Little did I know, going somewhere new often means getting lost. We made it to the first reservoir without difficulty, then wandered off to an area that looked paved and trail-like until it got smaller and smaller and eventually disappeared. We did find some gorgeous areas that few people have ever seen. It was a fun little hike, but someday I will have to do the real thing.

Serene Stonework

Translucent orange alabaster stone sculpture hand carved into a candle holder. It was chiseled, rasped, drilled, scraped, filed, sanded, and oiled. This will be for sale as soon as I get my online store up and running.
It was accepted to the Woodbury Art Museum and will be on display March 26-April 27, 2013.
